What Premail does

Premail is a desktop application for macOS, Windows, and Linux that monitors your email accounts, classifies incoming messages using an AI engine you configure, and automatically applies actions you define (archive, trash, move to folder, quarantine). All email processing happens locally on your computer. Premail operates no servers that receive or store your email.

License

Premail grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on computers you own or control, for your personal use, subject to your active subscription or the terms of any free tier we offer.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of Premail except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis. You authorize us to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period. Billing is handled by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. Stripe requires an email address to process payments and send receipts. We do not store your payment card details.

We collect your email address solely to verify your paid Pro plan and link it to your device. Linked email accounts inside the app (iCloud, Gmail, Outlook) are stored only on your computer and never transmitted to Premail.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not issue refunds for partial periods except where required by law.

We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Third-party AI providers

Premail supports Anthropic, OpenAI, and Ollama for AI classification. Premail does not offer any cloud AI service of its own. When you use Anthropic, OpenAI, or any other third-party provider with your own API key, classification requests go directly from your computer to that provider. Premail is not a party to those requests and is not responsible for the provider's availability, pricing, data handling, or any charges they apply.

You are solely responsible for any fees, usage charges, or other costs incurred from third-party AI providers. These costs are billed by the provider directly to you and are entirely separate from, and in addition to, any payments you make to Premail for a Premail Pro subscription. A Premail Pro subscription does not include or cover any AI usage costs from Anthropic, OpenAI, or any other provider.

You are responsible for complying with the terms of any third-party AI provider you choose to use with Premail. If you prefer to avoid third-party AI costs entirely, you can use Ollama, which runs locally on your computer at no additional charge.

Automated email actions

Premail applies actions to your email (archive, trash, move, quarantine) based on rules you configure. By enabling these actions, you authorize Premail to modify your mailbox on your behalf.

AI classification is probabilistic and will occasionally make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing your rules, thresholds, and the quarantine folder regularly. Premail is not liable for any email that is incorrectly classified or acted upon.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Premail to:

• Access email accounts you do not own or have authorization to access
• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or circumvent any security measure in the app
• Resell or redistribute access to Premail

No warranty

Premail is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will meet your specific requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Premail and its owners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data, missed email, or actions taken on your mailbox by the app. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may stop using Premail at any time by uninstalling the app.

We may revoke your license if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the service, with reasonable notice where practicable.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via the app. Continued use of Premail after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
