Community Rule Import/Export
Community Rule Import/Export lets you save your entire rule configuration to a JSON file and load one from someone else (or another machine). Use it to back up your setup, sync rules across multiple computers, or share a finely-tuned filter recipe with the community.
What's included in an export
- Built-in rules with any threshold or action overrides you have made
- All of your custom rules
- Applied rule packs (free and Pro) and their stack order
- Allowlist and blocked-domain lists
- Filter-related app settings
How to export
Open Rules and click Export. Premail downloads a premail-rules.jsonfile you can share, archive, or move to another computer.
How to import
Open Rules, click Import, and pick a premail-rules.json file. Premail validates the file and merges the imported configuration with your current setup.
Sharing with the community
Drop your exported JSON in a gist, forum thread, or Discord and other Premail users can import it directly. The file is plain text, so it is easy to review before you load a configuration someone else shared.
